San Pedro & Hiking Retreat

August 18 - 26, 2024

This hiking retreat includes 3 traditional San Pedro ceremonies, 2 Kambo ceremonies, and a hiking ceremony to the guardian mountain Auzangate. This mountain belongs to the Vilcanota mountain range in the Andes of Peru. The area around Auzangate is still inhabited by llama and alpaca herding communities and has some of the most spectacular views of the surrounding mountain ranges and many stunning lagoons along the hiking trail.

San Pedro
This 9-Day Retreat includes 4 San Pedro ceremonies where the sacred plant medicine will work with you to help you answer your questions and fulfill your intentions. They will also help you align, cleanse and restructure all the parts of you that need support and healing.
Additionally, the retreat also includes 2 Kambo ceremonies for deeper cleansing and realignment.

San Pedro cactus is a native cactus to the Andes of South America. Contained in it, is a naturally occurring alkaloid known as Mescaline. When ingested, it induces psychedelic effects and altered states of consciousness. San Pedro, is a “master medicine plant” and has been used for centuries to achieve spiritual, mental and emotional healing by Shamans. This gentle and heart-opening medicine opens a door to the wonder and beauty of your being.

San Pedro facilitates transformation in a manner that is both nurturing and supportive, inviting you to see through your limitations and false beliefs to the truth of who you really are.

Our ceremonies are guided by traditional shamanic Icaros as well as sound healing practices. Additionally, they are designed to allow time to connect with nature in a safe and guided space.

Kambo Medicine

We offer optional Kambo ceremonies during our retreats if there is a need to support the clearing of blockages to further open to the medicine in the course of a retreat.

Sourced from the indigenous tribes of Brazil, Kambo is the secretion of the giant Monkey frog. It is administered on the skin of the participants after doing a very light peripheral burn that serves as an opening to the lymphatic system. Kambo supports the healing and release of deep traumas, addictive substances, and behavioral patterns.

A Kambo ceremony is about two hours long which allows for rest and reflection for the rest of the day.

Hiking Ceremony - Medicine of the mountains

We hold a San Pedro ceremony on the mountain. It is a very unique and transformative experience where we deeply connect to nature and its spirits.  The mountains are regarded by the indigenous as sacred and they are referred to as Apus, which translates directly to mountain gods.

We open the ceremony space at the beginning of the hike with a sacred offering to the mountain and its spirits. We share our intentions and with gratitude ask for safe passage to the mountain. During the hike, we engage with the healing energies of the mountain in combination with the medicine of San Pedro. This combination pushes the psyche out of the comfort zone and allows the opportunity for deep releases and transformation to happen.

We stop on multiple occasions to offer a so-called Q’intus which is the traditional way to express gratitude to the mountain in the Quechua tradition. We also take regular breaks to eat and listen to Icaros, which are the spirit songs sung by the shaman to manage the energies of the space.

The conquering of the mountain is the conquering of the self. This retreat will empower you to take charge of your own life by reclaiming your power.

Ausangate Mountain

The translation of the name Ausangate from the native language means the ‘strongest’ or ‘winner’. Indeed, walking through the valley of the mountain at 4,200 m height (Around 13,800 ft), and looking at the breathtaking peak at 6,384 m (around 21,000 ft), you can feel the energy of the whole area and the mountain itself.
Many shamans, mystics, and healers get initiated at this sacred place, as well as many offerings and healing are done with the help of the spirit of Ausangate.

We are very happy to have been given permission by the spirits of this place to do ceremonies with San Pedro. We are very positive, this will be a life-changing experience for you, to say the least.
