Regenerative Shamanism Retreat

May 05 - 13, 2024

Our Regenerative Shamanism Retreat includes a unique blend of food therapy with traditional Shamanism. This blend allows for deep healing and transformation especially when it comes to breaking free from limiting beliefs, behavioral patterns, and habits. The retreat includes three traditional San Pedro ceremonies and a San Pedro hiking ceremony to the sacred mountain Pumahuanca. Pumahuanca lies at an elevation of 5302 meters and belongs to the mountain ranges of the Andes. Additionally, participants will be served two Kambo ceremonies.

Food as Medicine
During this retreat, you will learn how food and herbs can be used as medicine and a significant catalyst to heal ourselves on a physical, mental emotional, and energetic level. Included in the itinerary is a workshop where we prepare high-vibrational food as well as group talks where we share about the importance of detoxification for deep transformation and growth. This retreat will empower you to take charge of your health, heal your body, and deepen your spiritual connection.

In this retreat, we will have a special meal plan and share valuable information about how you can use food as medicine for healing and spiritual growth.

San Pedro
The San Pedro ceremonies are an integral part of the retreat, where the plant medicines will work with you to help align, cleanse, and restructure all the parts of you that need support and healing. Our ceremonies are guided by traditional shamanic icaros as well as sound healing practices. They provide the possibility for you to journey deeper within yourself, reconnect with your heart center, and ground within your body.

On non-ceremony days we have yoga classes to help integrate the energetic changes and meet for group talks, lectures, and workshops to dive deeper into the concept of food therapy.

Hiking Ceremony - Medicine of the mountains

We hold a San Pedro ceremony on the mountain. It is a very unique and transformative experience where we deeply connect to nature and its spirits.  The mountains are regarded by the indigenous as sacred and they are referred to as Apus, which translates directly to mountain gods.

We open the ceremony space at the beginning of the hike with a sacred offering to the mountain and its spirits. We share our intentions and with gratitude ask for safe passage to the mountain. During the hike, we engage with the healing energies of the mountain in combination with the medicine of San Pedro. This combination pushes the psyche out of the comfort zone and allows the opportunity for deep releases and transformation to happen.

We stop on multiple occasions to offer a so-called Q’intus which is the traditional way to express gratitude to the mountain in the Quechua tradition. We also take regular breaks to eat and listen to Icaros, which are the spirit songs sung by the shaman to manage the energies of the space.

The conquering of the mountain is the conquering of the self. This retreat will empower you to take charge of your own life by reclaiming your power.

Pumahuanca mountain

Nested between the glaciers Chicon and Veronica, Pumahuanca mountain combines and offers the intensely pure energy of its surroundings. We hike along the river of the mountain until we reach our destination at the waterfall. On the way, we pass by Inkan ruins as well as a traditional village of the local community that still has people living in it until today.

Pumahuanka’s name means, the place of the pumas. Unfortunately, no pumas live there any longer, but the name remains.
The mountain is a sure place to purify and realign your energies, which in turn, gives you the clarity you need to move forward with your decisions in life.

Going on a journey with San Pedro in this part of the Andes, with the pure cleansing energies, and the breathtaking beauty of nature, is a sure recipe to give you a life-changing experience.

Kambo Medicine

We offer optional Kambo ceremonies during our retreats if there is a need to support the clearing of blockages to further open to the medicine in the course of a retreat.

Sourced from the indigenous tribes of Brazil, Kambo is the secretion of the giant Monkey frog. It is administered on the skin of the participants after doing a very light peripheral burn that serves as an opening to the lymphatic system. Kambo supports the healing and release of deep traumas, addictive substances, and behavioral patterns.

A Kambo ceremony is about two hours long which allows for rest and reflection for the rest of the day.
