San Pedro Ceremony

At Samadi Healing we hold shamanic ceremonies, retreats and dietas with different master plants and medicines including San Pedro; also known as the Medicine of the Heart. In addition to this ancient medicine we enrich our traditional shamanic practices with healing modalities that help to harmonize body mind & spirit.

A San Pedro ceremony can be a deeply transformative and helpful experience. Whether you're interested in exploring consciousness or guiding your healing journey, the master plant can be a very supportive energy for you. Our ceremonies take place in a beautiful supportive natural environment surrounded by peaceful gardens and we ensure you get the care and attention you need throughout the journey. While you’re with us, your safety and healing are our priority. We therefore only serve San Pedro medicine that is prepared by us in an intentional and sacred ritual.

Ceremony Day

A San Pedro ceremony is a whole day activity, commencing around 8 am and running until 2 pm. In the Morning we gather at the ceremony space where everyone shares their intentions. At this time, we share supporting tools and guidelines about navigating the experience before serving the medicine.

The set and setting when working with psychedelics are very important and greatly impact your experience. Therefore, Our ceremonies occur in a beautiful space that opens into a private garden. Each participant is provided with a mat, blankets, and pillow to ensure a comfortable journey.

The first hours of our ceremony are led and guided by traditional icaros (healing songs) as well as sound healing practices, with the intention to clear, open, and harmonize the energies. We also offer healing conversations to guide the energies and facilitate your healing journey. During the afternoon, we invite you to sit in contemplation with the spirits, journal, and connect to nature. San Pedro can induce a strong sense of connectedness with the natural world and time spent outdoors can be an enriching part of your experience.

During the ceremony, we serve fruits, cacao, and fresh herbal tea. In the afternoon we serve medicine-friendly snacks, make a fire (if the weather allows), and around 6 pm we serve a vegan dinner.

Ceremony Schedule

  • We ask all participants to arrive at our location between 7:30 and 7:45 am. We start our San Pedro ceremony at 8 am

  • The San Pedro medicine is ingested at the start of the ceremony. It takes approximately 15 to 40 minutes to start feeling the effects. During the first four hours, the intensity of the experience increases until it reaches a peak. The peak state typically lasts for about 2 hours. After this, the intensity gently decreases over the following hours

  • We invite everyone to spend time in the gardens and the space remains open, guided, and supported by us. The afternoon allows for alone time, contemplation, and journaling. This time of the day allows us to gain more insight and start integrating the energies of the morning. During this time we are available for guiding conversations and support

  • Around 6pm a light evening meal of vegetable soup or stew is served. Dinner is a good milestone to ground the energies

  • After dinner you are invited to sit by the fire where we will close our ceremony day with a Kintu of gratitude. This is also a great time for gentle conversation and sharing with other participants.

  • It is important to consider time to rest. After the San Pedro ceremony, you can find yourself tired and needing to relax, physically but also mentally and energetically. We recommend having an extra day after the ceremony to rest and do regenerative activities
